Oswego County Trauma Response Team

The Oswego County Trauma Response Team was created in 2006 by the Oswego County Child Fatality Review Team to meet the needs of children and families following a traumatic event.

The trauma response team assists children and their families who have been impacted by sudden, often traumatic events, regain a sense of control over their lives and promote community healing.

Traumatic events may include: homicide, suicide, sudden death, serious assault, and witness to violence, abduction, natural man-made disasters, or accidents.

Intervention with those that have been affected by a traumatic event will reduce the often overwhelming feelings of helplessness, confusion, and heightened anxiety associated with experiencing a trauma. Feelings of guilt, anger, and resentment will be defused, possibly preventing further trauma associated with an event.

There is no charge for any response and all responses are confidential.
